Obituary for Guadalupe Fernandez

Guadalupe Fernandez age 84 of Stone Park, passed away on September 18, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Roberto Fernandez. Loving mother of Sylvia Barrientos, Veronica Fernandez, Tomas Fernández, Roberto Fernandez, Fernando Fernandez, José Fernandez, Norma Hill and Verónica Ostiguin. Cherished grandmother of 19 and great grandmother of 22.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Guadalupe Fernandez was a remarkably strong woman. She had a love for birds, enjoyed crafts, and had her own sense of style. She even enjoyed beating her grandkids at her favorite Nintendo games- like Super Mario Brothers and Contra.

She had many craft books that she collected throughout the years, but was also creative including making her own jewelry and ornaments for different holidays. Whenever there was a wedding, baptism or baby shower in the family, she would be the one to volunteer to make the decorations.

Her love for fashion was unlike any other grandma. Whenever she would walk into a store, she would head straight towards the juniors section. Her outfits were very stylish and in trend. She always took time to make sure her hair and makeup was at its best. Every outfit had its own jewelry and pair of shoes to coordinate. She loved looking nice, and it was something that brought her joy and made her feel her best.

As a young woman, she worked at a maternity ward where she assisted in delivering babies. There, she worked with her future mother-in-law, which led to her later meeting the love of her life, Roberto Fernandez. The love they shared for one another was undeniable. People would remember them joking and flirting around with each other. The love and support they shared, shows they were truly each other’s soul mates.

Guadalupe Fernandez was an orphan at 9 years old. She made her way in this world with strength, courage, laughter, and love no matter what life threw at her. When she left this world, she left over 50 descendants, who will continue on her legacy and have a part of her in each of their hearts. We could say that this is a remarkable life.
