Obituary for Luz M. Rocha

Luz M. Rocha age 85 of Maywood, passed away on April 27, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Jorge Rocha. Loving mother of Luz Roca Serrano, Alicia Esparza, George Rocha Jr., Rosalind Kostygov and Alex Rocha. Cherished grandmother of Gabriel Gonzales, Fernando Serrano, Jeanette Esparza, Daniel Esparza, Nathaniel Rocha, Hannah Rocha, Justin Rocha, Autumn Rocha and Jade Rocha. Dearest great grandmother of Jeselyn Gonzales, Coraline Gonzales, Mauricio Esparza and Anaiz Villalobos.

Luz was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend who loved the Lord. She was born in Mexico to Simon Carrizales and Raquel Ortega. She worked as a seamstress at a young age helping her mother and while she was in school she served as a teacher's aide. In 1957, she married Jorge Rocha and they enjoyed many happy years together raising their family until his passing in 1993. Luz spent her adult years working employed as a pin ball machine assembler, which lead to her training others to assemble those machines, which ultimately lead to her testing the machines. She was often a recipient of awards for the quality of work, was praised for her work ethic, was never absent and never late. In her spare time Luz loved music, played the violin, painted, was such a good gardener that it was often said she could bring plants back from the dead, wrote poetry, loved to dance and was a den mother for Boy Scouts. She will always be remembered for her wit, caring ways, dedication and love to her family. She will be greatly missed.
