Obituary for Walter Rakauskas

Walter (Wally) Rakauskas, lifelong resident of Melrose Park, passed away on July 13th, 2019 at the age of 93. He was born in Lithuania but soon came to know his lifelong home in the United States. He spent many years as a dedicated employee of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. He enjoyed countless years being a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Walter was a friend to all he encountered and will be greatly missed by many. He is predeceased by his son, Michael Rakauskas. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ona(Tautkus)Rakauskas, his son, Paul (late Joyce)Rakauskas, his grandchildren, Matthew(Diana)Rakauskas, Jason(Tiffany)Rakauskas, Melissa(Josh)Kraus, Corinne(Billy)Lowe, Nancy(Justin)Anderson, Michael Rakauskas. He is also survived by his many great grandchildren and other family both here in the U.S. and in Lithuania.
In lieu of flowers donations the Illinois Railway Museum( in Union, Il) would be greatly appreciated.
